Uganda women football teams get FIFA kits

FUFA boss hails the world's football governing body over the donation.

FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo has hailed world football governing body FIFA for donating kits to the 16 women football clubs in the national league.

While handing over the stuff to the teams's managers and coaches, Magogo said Uganda is one of the few countries in the world that have taken keen interest in women football to the extent of being recognized by FIFA.

"Beginning last year, FIFA has given Uganda 12 sets of uniforms and boost to support the women league. This year it has also done the same and FUFA has bought four more sets of jersey to give to each team," said the local football boss at FUFA House in Mengo.

Magogo also gave reasons for Uganda's pulling out of the women's competitions since 2014, saying it was a tactical withdrawal to build a formidable foundation and a team to compete favorably on the continent.

He also announced that Uganda is due to host the CECAFA women championships in Kampala in August this year.

"After playing five matches in that tournament, we will be able to select a strong national team to compete in all kinds of tournaments."
