Two injured after wall collapses along Lugogo Bypass

This comes barely a week after a city building collapsed along Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road in the city centre killing one and injuring scores

Two people were injured after a perimeter wall collapsed along Lugogo Bypass in Kampala on Monday afternoon.

Heavy rains that are pounding several parts if the country aer believed to have weakned the foundation of the wall.

According to Kira Police station officer in charge Gerald Tumwesigye, the misfortune, in which Daniel Kasirivu 26 a boda boda rider and his passenger Aloysius Ssengabi 32, were injured, occurred at around 1:30pm.

Tumwesigye recollected that he heard a bang during his routine operations in the area. "I immediately dashed to the scene and realized that the perimeter wall had collapsed in the road injuring two people," he said. He said that duo sustained minor injuries.
 
"The wall was for proposed apartments under construction belonging to Visare (U) Ltd and police is hunting for the owner and the engineer of the site," he said.

Tumwesigye said poorly constructed structures continue to pause a danger to people especially construction workers.
