The Directors of Public Prosecution (DPP) has recalled the files of Christopher Aine, the elusive security head of former Go Forward Independent Presidential candidate, Amama Mbabazi.

The police publicist, Fred Enanga said the DPP has showed interest in the case and recalled the files which "we are yet to handover".

Last week, the Police Chief, Kale Kayihura sought consultations from Attorney General (AG) over Aine's issues given the nature of the matter.

Aine went missing last year on December 17, but resurfaced last week at the home of the Gen. Salim Saleh. Gen Saleh is a young brother to President Yoweri Museveni and presidential advisor on security matters.

Police placed a sh20m bounty on Aine in the aftermath of the clash in Ntungamo between Mbabazi and Museveni supporters and purportedly assaulting a police officer in Jinja.

"We held consultations since Aine's case was political in nature to get guidance and needed to be handled carefully. Now the DPP has recalled the files for more advise and guidance," he said.

He said they are now waiting for the DPP's guidance for the way forward.
