“I missed my players during the one-month medical leave but I feel we shall have to start winning games."

JINJA - Following their 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Simba FC at Kakindu stadium on Tuesday, BUL FC players will have been delighted by news of the return of head coach Alex Isabirye for his official duties this Saturday.

David Kiwanuka, who has been in charge of the club during Isabirye's absence, feels the players will be so happy for the whole technical bench to be complete.

The club gave Isabirye a one-month medical leave during which BUL has got three wins out of six games. They beat Express FC 2-0, then a 1-0 win over KCCA FC, before replicating the same result against Simba.

"I have served well enough during his absence but it's a challenging task to manage this group of players," said Kiwanuka.

"When Isabirye returns, we shall have a full game plan and I hope that the players can put up a fighting spirit to be able to move up in a respectable position in the league .

"Our main target was to finish in the top four positions in the league but because all teams are very competitive, we have to challenge for at least top six, although it won't be easy," he said.

On his part, Isabirye says they need to rebuild their relationship with the fans.

"I missed my players during the one-month medical leave but I feel we shall have to start winning games so that the home fans can start having faith in us."

Kiwanuka's last match as interim head coach would be today's (Friday's) trip to defending champions Vipers FC in Buikwe.
