Community Liaison Assistant at PREFA
Protecting Families against HIV/AIDS (PREFA) is an indigenous Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was formed to contribute to Uganda's efforts in enhancing access to quality HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment, and support services to families with a historical focus on Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (eMTCT) of HIV.
PREFA is looking for a competent person to fill the following position:
Community Liaison Assistant - 1 position
Duty Station: Kampala with frequent travels to the field
Reports to: Community Liaison Officer
Duration of contract: 1 year
Job Summary
Participate in design, implementation and monitoring of high impact HIV/AIDS community interventions in
PREFA-supported areas.
Key Results
1. A robust framework of community interventions in line with PREFA's projects.
2. Performance indicators for monitoring community education and mobilization activities continually
updated and documented.
3. Linkage established between the facility and the community served.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Submit monthly/quarterly/annual work plans to guide implementation.
2. Participate in mobilization and awareness raising activities.
3. Collect data on all PREFA supported activities at health facility & community level.

5. Facilitate relevant facility & community meetings in line with the implementation plans.
6. Participate in the formulation of IEC materials and media messages.
7. Regularly and continuously update and document performance indicators for monitoring community activities.
8. Coordinate related PREFA activities across districts of PREFA implementation.
Required qualifications
A minimum of Bachelors Degree in Social Science, Social Works and Social Administration or Community Psychology, Community & Adult Education with experience in running successful HIV/AIDS interventions at community/health facility/district level, especially those focusing on psychosocial support & livelihoods for people living with HIV/AIDS.
