Richard Muhumuza hit a hole-in-one as over 120 golfers took to the course to contribute to charity as they celebrated Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi's 61st birthday at Kitante on Saturday.

Playing for Dr. William Kalema's sponsored Team 1 that eventually emerged overall winners of the one-day event, Muhumuza achieved the rare feat on the par three Hole No. 17.

He eventually returned 34 stable ford points, combining with Stephen Jali (39pts), Joseph Kasozi (37pts) and Joseph Mawejje (36pts) to beat Team 5 that comprised of Claire Bruggerman (37pts), Charles Katarikawe (3pts), Soon Hong 31 and Park Jong Dae (26pts) to the top position.

The Pinaccle Security team comprising of Kim Il Hoon and Godfrey Nkambwe collected 98 points to finish 3rd overall.

As part of the activities to mark the birthday the golfers did not only play for pleasure but also raised sh10m in the process towards the fight against fistula.

Prince Jjunju Kiwewa presided over the prize ceremony and asked golfers to raise the tournament to Bika and or Masaza levels just like it is with swimming and football.

"I bring you greetings from the Kabaka. It is a pleasure to officiate at this tournament for the second time; we are hoping the tournament can continue to grow up to the Bika and Masaza levels," Jjunju in company of the head of the Kabaka birthday organizing committee, Apollo Makubuya and other dignitaries from the Buganda kingdom said.

"We thank you for maintaining the tradition of the tournament and we look forward for more to come. We thank all who have participated and also thank you for the generosity towards the fight against fistula," Makubuya said.
