Apr 10, 2016
South Africa easily retained the championship
Uganda Ladies Golf team captain Eva Magala produced Uganda's best performance at the All Africa Golf Championships in Tunisia but it was short on giving Uganda their first ever victory as the 13th edition ended on Friday.
The Ugandans found the wet and windy conditions in Hammemet too tough but managed a 7th place finish out of 16 countries that took part.
Mbaguta who was the best Ugandan player on the first day, collapsed in the subsequent rounds consequently finishing with a non-counting score.
South Africa easily retained the championship with their top players Ivanna Samu, Kaleigh Telfer and Zethu Myeki claiming an unmatched 12th victory for the country.
Samu and Telfer were also the top individual performers with 218 and 224 gross respectively over the 54-hole competition.
Morocco finished second 28 strokes off with hosts Tunisia finishing 45 strokes off in third.
