Kawooya says the fight was sparked off after a series of suspicious phone calls which his wife often received in the wee hours of the night.

Emanuel Kawooya has been admitted at Kawolo Hospital in Buikwe District with a rotting hand after being bitten by his wife.

Kawooya, 37, told New Vision that he was fighting with his wife, Lydia Nabweggamu recently when she bit him on the hand and it started rotting.

The two are residents of Kinoni Division in Najjembe Sub County. Kawooya said that he feels a lot of pain and that he fears he might lose his hand.

Kawooya says the fight was sparked off after a series of suspicious phone calls which his wife often received in the wee hours of the night.

Dr. Julius Kizito of Kawolo Hospital said that the bacteria in the saliva of Kawooya's wife caused the infection.

The doctor advised people who are bitten by others to use water to clean the wound thoroughly before running to a health center for treatment.
