Local friendly: Wandegeya held by Fire Fire

The friendly, which ended 2-2, followed a 2-1 defeat by Wandegeya to Kasese New Villa.

After their league game was postponed, Wandegeya FC decided to have a trial game with First Division side Fire Fire FC at Kanyanya grounds.

The friendly, which ended 2-2, followed a 2-1 defeat by Wandegeya to Kasese New Villa in Fort Portal in the FUFA Big League last Saturday.

Moses Mawanda and Kabuye Jerome scored for Wandegeya in the Monday evening game while Ken Lukoda and Baker Lubwama were the goal-scorers for Fire Fire.

While Wandegeya lie 10th with 16 points in a table of 12 teams, Fire Fire are in fifth place of the First Division league.

Five minutes to the end of first half, Kabuye equalised after receiving a through pass from Shafik Mubiru to restore parity going into the break.

After restart, on a muddy pitch, Lubwama restored Fire Fire's lead but with Wandegeya bringing on new faces, the game was soon tied again - through Mawanda's 66th minute finish.

Next up, Wandegeya will travel to Mbarara to play Sun City FC on Saturday in the league while Fire Fire FC will face Mpererwe Boys FC.
