Parents who shun immunisation campaign face arrest

The Kayunga RDC, Rose Birungi has warned that parents who refuse to present their children for the door to door mass polio immunization will be arrested.

Birungi says that some parents have a habit of hiding children whenever there is a mass immunization program.

The three-day mass polio immunisation exercise will run from April 1st to 3rd.

The campaign is funded by the Government and its development partners to the tune of sh15bn to eradicate polio by 2018.

The director of health services at the ministry of health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has asked health workers to administer the vaccine well as prescribed and appeals to parents to embrace the exercise.
