Coffee farmers tipped on value addition

According to statistics by Uganda Coffee Development Authority only 3 to 5% of the Ugandan population takes coffee and its products.

The Uganda Coffee Development Authority has advised coffee farmers in the country to always add value to their coffee beans in a move to earn more profit.

Doreen Rose Rweihangwe, the Uganda Coffee Development Authority Quality Assurance Manager also observes that coffee farmers in the country should consume their locally produced coffee instead of exporting the whole of it.

She was speaking at the on-going two - day coffee expo in Mbarara town intended to increase public awareness about coffee benefits.
