Solomon Muyita, the senior communication officer of the judiciary revealed this during the launch of the ‘Small Claims Procedure' - a new justice system that does not require the service of lawyers to represents plaintiffs and defendants before courts of law.

He noted that no professional state prosecutors, magistrates and judges demand for bribes from the public in exchange for providing justice because their code of ethics prohibits the vice.

Muyita urged the court users to always use the judiciary information desk officers that are being established at every court across the country to get credible court information and guidance free of charge to access justice.

He noted that out of the over 200 courts across the country, 26 including Mengo, Makindye, Arua, Mbarara, Jinja, Lira, Masaka, Mbale, Entebbe, Luweero, Mpigi, Iganga, Nakasongola, Kabale, Nakawa, Mukono , Kasese and Fort Portal have already been equipped with the officers in the first phase of the project.

He added that the courts slated for the second phase before June 2016 include Kitgum, Gulu, Masindi, Hoima, Busenyi, Busia and Soroti.
