Former Hereford United coach Mark Ellis has agreed he won't be misrepresenting his association with Premier League giants Arsenal.

According to Worcester News Ellis was issued with a cease and desist letter after the Gunners were concerned about a number of media reports that implied he had a significant role at the club.

Ellis who was recently in Uganda, and was due to start coaching clinics in conjunction with Pemba Sports Africa, but which clinics have not taken off has been heralded before as a former Arsenal coach.

According to his own Crystal Sports Management website, Ellis has coached the likes of Jack Wilshere, Henri Lansbury, Sanchez Watt and Craig Eastmond during his time at the club.

And in a video interview with Ndani Sports during a coaching trip to Nigeria in 2012, Ellis said: "Teams like Manchester City haven't got young players so they have got to go out and spend massive money, while clubs like Arsenal, where I work, develop young players and it works like a business."

But Arsenal said Ellis, from Hornchurch in Essex, has not had any role with the club since he was a part-time coach at the academy in 2002.

"Mark has agreed to the terms of the letter, so the issue is resolved from our side at the moment," said an Arsenal spokesman.

The purported coaching clinics in conjunction with FUFA which were due to start last month in Uganda conducted by him have not taken off since they are not listed on the FUFA calendar. "The technical director under whose docket such programs fall is not aware of the clinic, though such initiatives are welcome," FUFA Spokesman Ahmed Hussein said last month.
