Kintu says his boys played well and were unlucky to lose all the three points to SCVU at home.

Following their painful 0-1 loss to Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) on Tuesday, Maroons FC head coach Paddy Kintu says his team will now focus on avoiding relegation from the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Kintu says his boys played well and were unlucky to lose all the three points to SCVU at home.

"We are a good team but we have been unlucky. A small mistake in the dying minutes of the SCVU game cost us but we shall keep fighting," he said.

Maroons dominated play in the first half but SCVU stepped up in the second half to register a late victory.

SCVU had a goal ruled out in the second half for offside while Maroons Johnson Kamoga failed to put the ball in the back of the net with only the goalkeeper to beat.

But it was Isaac Odeke who gave the visitors victory in the 93rd minute following a miscommunication between the Maroons goalkeeper and his defender.

Maroons host army side Simba FC next who are second from bottom. A win for Maroons is still not good enough.
