The Bushenyi district speaker, Emmanuel Karatsi criticized some politicians saying some times when a man is arrested for battering his partner; some politicians are the ones who call police to order for the release of the suspect.

Charity Mutungi, Kabira and Rurehe sub-counties councillor in Mitooma district said lack of evidence has led women's failure to win cases of domestic violence in court.
