Yes, Friday Night Lights (FNL) is back and it returned in style.

Nearly sacrificed at the altar of dispute, FNL Season Six started with a clear focus on looking ahead as Enabu, Kami, Koma and defending champions Amoding registered opening-day victories.

Fans compete in the Rwenzori seat-shooting challenge during the Friday Night Lights action at YMCA, March 4 2016.

There were plenty of memorable sights and sounds but none more powerful than Cedric Babu and Tom Ocyamuringa seated side-by-side and conversing at length. The pair deserve credit for listening to the voice of reason and putting together what is being dubbed as ‘The Sixth Coming'.

The on-court action was good enough for a season-opening day with all but one game keeping fans entertained through a balanced mix of competitiveness and skill. Team Enabu expectedly feasted on Team Wazee 72-48 but all the other winners had to work hard for their wins.

Team Kami bested Team Jonah 59-50, Team Koma pipped 57-56 while Team Amoding registered a 61-56 victory over Team Ikong. Still, every team walked away with sh300, 000sh for their efforts while fans who participated and won the day's thrilling challenges also received prizes, ranging from cash to drinks.
