Armed policemen deployed at Wampewo on Gayaza road to block the ex-premier and his team.
Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi was Saturday afternoon blocked from proceeding to Kasangati to visit FDC politician Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Both Mbabazi and Besigye were in the just-concluded presidential race won by incumbent Yoweri Museveni of the NRM.
Exactly a week on, Mbabazi, who finished third in the election behind Besigye and Museveni, was stopped by police from reaching the opposition politician's residence.
Armed policemen deployed at Wampewo on Gayaza road to block the ex-premier and his team.
On his team was DP secretary general Mathias Nsubuga and Michael Mabiike of the Go Forward outfit.
This comes only a day after European Union (EU) and United States (US) envoys paid a courtesy visit to Besigye at his home.
The EU delegation arrived at Besigye's home at about 2:00pm local time Friday, but was first denied entry by the police, before the intervention of Police director of human resource development, Felix Kaweesi.
For several days, Besigye has remained at his home and his movement restricted.
On Wednesday, Police Chief Gen. Kale Kayihura said the restriction was a preventive measure to stop Besigye from "causing chaos".
