The Electoral Commission (EC) has called for calm following late delivery of election materials in some parts of the country.

Although by law, casting of the ballot should start at 7:00am, in some places like Makindye Division in Kampala, a number of polling stations had not received polling materials by 8:00am.

"Remain positive and rest assured you will cast your ballot today. All delays are regretted," EC responded to complaints raised by a number of voters on its twitter handle.
