UVF president tips women volleyballers

Uganda will know their opponents in the technical meeting on Thursday morning when the countries are grouped and eventually the fixtures released.

Uganda Volleyball Federation President Sadik Nasiwu urged the national women team to take the opportunity at the Rio World Cup qualifier to sell Ugandan volleyball continentally.

Uganda is due to compete with hosts Cameroon, Algeria, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia and Zimbabwe starting on February 12.  

"It is the first time we (Uganda) has gone for a competition as far as Cameroon. We should ensure our best and sell our game at the continent level," Nasiwu said.
