Swimmers look to better times as seals league rolls off

Season two of the Seals Club League Meets will set in motion this year's swimming calendar of activities with the first league meet scheduled to take place on February 13 at Kampala Parents School swimming pool.

A Level 1&2 Championship in South Africa in March, the South African Senior Championships in April and the Western Province Championships in South Africa in December are some of the new additional competitions the Seals swimmers will be engaged in going by the calendar released by Seals Club Chairman Tefiro Serunjogi.

After  the first league meet, the Seals will thereafter prepare for the Kenya Swimming Federation Long Course Championship due February 26-28 in Nairobi before they send swimmers to the Level 1&2 Championship in South Africa.

In mid-March, they will also compete in the Aga Khan Junior Championship ahead of the second Seals League Meet on April 6-7.

They also hope to participate in the South African Senior Championship and the CANA Zone 4 Championship expected to be held in the same month before the Seals Junior Swimming Gala on April 30.

The Kenya Swimming Federation Junior Championship in May, the Seals Invitational in July, before the third Seals meet in September and the Western Province Championships in South Africa in December, are some of the other competitions that they are focused on; on top of the annual USF Independence gala and the KSF Short Course championship in October.

The last league meet will be held in November with awards going to the best swimmers across the various age groups based on their overall performance in the four league meets.

The league meets are part of the official USF calendar aimed at growing activities and competition among local swimmers.
