Thugs rob Chinese national of sh13m

A Chinese national Ni Tuzhi who is also a businessman in Kampala was on Friday robbed of sh13m plus 300kg of fish by a group of five thugs. 

The robbery occurred at around 1:30pm at Bunga Hill Zone, Ggaba parish in Makindye division a Kampala suburb. 

The thugs who were reportedly armed with three pistols attacked Tuzhi and robbed him of his cash before driving away. 

Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said the thugs gained entry into the premises of the Chinese businessman when one Brutas Gumisiriza a private security guard attached to Saracen Security Company detailed to guard the place had allegedly stepped out for lunch leaving his rifle behind. 

"The thugs also packed the robbed fish onto one of Nituzhi's vehicles, a Toyota Noah reg. no. UAP 076A and drove off. The victim reported the matter at Kabalagala police station. 

Police noted that the scene was visited, private security guard arrested and detained at Kabalagala police station as investigations continue. 

Enanga sounded a warning to managers of private security firms to remind their guards about duty and safety of their clients. 

Speaking at a recent meeting for private guards in Bugolobi, Vishal Dathwal, the Securex operations manager, said guards are routinely cautioned but some are naturally ill-mannered.

 "Some guards will always differ from what is right and choose the wrong side. We chose as private security firms to always lay off staff (guards) who are caught on the wrong side of the law," he said. 

Last year Fred Baraza, a security guard with Ballard Security Company Limited, allegedly killed his employer, Sanjeev Ira, the managing director of Grow More Seeds and Chemicals Company Limited located on Luthuli Avenue in Bugolobi, a Kampala suburb. 

Enanga, the police spokesperson, said the incident occurred at around 9:20pm, when the guard attacked the victim at the company's premises. 

"The guard fired a single shot into the victim's shoulder, which left him unconscious. He further turned to the shamba boy, who had responded to the gunshot, and robbed him of Ushs10,000 and a mobile phone," Enanga said. 

He said police officers at Bugolobi Police Post responded upon receiving a call at around 9.40pm.
