The equipment includes 100 shirts and 200 world class rackets. UBA CEO Simon Mugabi said the kit has come at the right time for Ugandan players preparing for the 10 Uganda International scheduled for February 25-28 at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Mugabi said the equipment will be distributed to various clubs starting with Nsambya Youth Sharing Center.

He added that with such help; more Ugandan athletes will be in position to compete favorably in the upcoming tournament.

"Despite having only one player Edwin Ekiring in the bracket of qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics, the annual kit that Ireland has promised will propel players to compete and get points for the 2020 Olympics in Japan," noted Mugabi at Nsambya as he distributed the kits to participants of a holiday clinic.

Mugabi said registration for the Uganda International is in progress both locally and online.

"We anticipate a big turn up by the foreign players because many are looking for qualification points for the Rio Olympics," he added.
