Govt to build more vocational schools to create employment

ZOMBO - The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag bearer for the 2016 Presidential elections, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has revealed that government will build more vocational schools to help the youth acquire technical skills and create more employment opportunities.

Museveni who was Sunday speaking at a campaign rally held at Anyo Catholic Mission in Zeu Sub County, Zombo district noted that while many youth have graduated from university, they lack the practical skills needed at the job.

“The government is going to build one technical school per district and later on build one for each constituency. Government is ready to help. That is why we are putting money in operation wealth creation, the youth fund, the women fund and microfinance,” he said.

The President also advised the youth not to wait for public service jobs if because they are few. He encouraged them to engage in activities that will earn them incomes such as farming: fruit growing, poultry, and piggery.

On education, Museveni promised that government would increase funding to education so that children do not miss school.

“I will continue to support the children. If parents cannot afford, the government will put more money instead of chasing children from school,” he said.

The president added that government is going to provide exercise books, mathematical sets and sanitary pads for the girl child so that parents can concentrate on buying uniforms and feeding the children.

Grace Kwiocwiny Freedom, Woman MP Zombo district promised to rally the residents of Zeu behind President Museveni in the forthcoming elections.
