Geoffrey Massa confident Cranes will beat Togo

Uganda Cranes team captain Geoffrey Massa is optimistic they will get a comfortable result from their first leg 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Togo in Lome on Thursday.

Uganda Cranes team captain Geoffrey Massa is optimistic they will get a comfortable result from their first leg 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Togo in Lome on Thursday.
Uganda Cranes leave for Lome on Wednesday.
Massa said that, “we want to do our job in Lome and make life easy in the return leg. If we get a good result away, I’m sure we shall be more comfortable in the return leg here.”
Massa was speaking after the Cranes team reviewed a video of Uganda Cranes earlier match with Togo at Namboole stadium last year.
Meanwhile, Uganda Cranes manager Chrispus Muyinda, who is in Lome to prepare for the team’s arrival there believes the players will not face any major problems with weather because the temperatures are similar to those in Uganda.
Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovich had earlier challenged his players to ensure that they end Togo’s unbeaten run against Uganda.
Togo boasts an unbeaten record over Uganda in all competitions and Micho thinks a halt to the trend will reflect Cranes increased chances in the World Cup qualifiers.
“I beg my players not to fear Togo but to respect them. We know them and we know they will want to attack more in order to finish the game there. I just hope we rise up to the challenge on Thursday,” Micho said.
The team flies out to Lome in a chartered plane, play Togo on Thursday, (November 12, 2015) before the return leg on Sunday, November 15 2015.
FUFA international match organising committee boss Bernard Ogwel announced that the federation has ordered for 42,000 tickets for the return leg because they expect a bumper turn up of fans. Ordinary tickets will be sold at sh20,000, sh50,000 for VIP and sh120,000 covered seats (VVIP).
