Presidential candidate, Dr. Abed Bwanika has said he begins his campaigns in Busoga region on Monday.

He explained that beginning his campaigns in the east is partly spiritual. “We wanted to start from Busoga region, which is the source of River Nile,” he said.

The Nile, which is the longest river in the world, has biblical connections.

It was into the Nile River that the infant Moses was placed in a waterproof basket by his sister Miriam and where he was found by the Pharaoh's daughter.

Moses was placed in a basket in the Nile in order to conceal him, since the king of Egypt had ordered that all male children born to the Hebrews should be killed.

Moses led the Exodus of the Israelites out of Egypt and across the Red Sea, after which they based themselves at Mount Sinai, where he received the Ten Commandments.

The Bible predicts that at Jesus’ second coming, the river Nile would dry up.

Bwanika said that in the mornin on Monday, he would be in Irundu and Kidera in Buyende and Kamuli town and other areas in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, he will address a rally in Luuka in the morning and go to Iganga in the afternoon.

On Wednesday, he will head to Namayingo in the morning after which he will hold  rally in Bugiri.

On Friday, Bwanika said he will organise prophetic prayers at the source of River Nile.

He said that from Busoga, he would head to Lango, after which he would proceed to East Buganda, West Nile and then West Buganda.
