World Bodybuilding champion of the International Natural Bodybuilding Association Mubarak Kizito, who is also the reigning Mr. Kampala, is set to compete at the Natural Olympia due in Las Vegas, November 12-15.

Kizito will travel along with another body builder, Billy Settenda, commonly known as Christian, pending acquisition of visas.

Robert Yiga who was the runner-up in the Mr. Kampala event, bowed out due to lack of sponsorship.

Kizito, who in June became the first Ugandan body builder to win a gold medal at the International Natural Body building Association Championships (INBA) in Dubai as an amateur, is expected to fly out on November 8 to join Byekwaso who is already in the US to compete at the Olympiad.

“We are well prepared for the competitions and we are optimistic that we will put up a very stiff challenge and also win medals for our nation,”Kizito said during an interview at Gigz Gym on Mabiriizi Plaza where they are training.

Meanwhile, Settenda who will be competing for the second time at such an event, will compete in the Master category (35 years and above). He is optimistic of winning a medal after he finished fourth in 2005 when he competed in a similar event.

The two are sponsored by Gland Global Hotel-Makerere for the air tickets and upkeep.

INBA Mr. Universe Ivan Byekwaso left earlier in his quest to win gold in both the World Cup natural body building championship, in San Diego and the Natural Olympia where he won a bronze last year.

The 32 year old left early for the championships Wednesday, to have extra preparation and a one-month training with renowned San Diego based natural bodybuilding coach Gaspar Lorenzo ahead of the two events, courtesy of Pemba Sports Africa.

Byekwaso, who recently won the Mr. Universe title also in the US when he beat 36 other contestants, will compete in the world cup on Saturday in California before connecting to Las Vegas for the Natural Olympia.
