President Yoweri Museveni will launch the NRM party manifesto, which is meant to oil his 2016 campaign strategy, on November 5, Richard Todwong, the party deputy secretary general has said.

Addressing a news conference at the NRM party headquarters at Plot 10, Kyadondo Road, Todwong said that preparations for the national delegates conference, which is scheduled for October 30 to November 2 at Mandela National Stadium--Namboole, are underway.

Over 15,000 delegates are expected to attend the conference where Museveni, the party chairman will give a key note address.

Todwong said that after the national conference, supporters will escort Museveni for nomination as the party flag bearer for the 2016 general elections. The National Independent Electoral Commission fixed November 3 as the nomination day for Museveni.

"When the conference ends on November 2, the NRM will on November 3, 2015 at 9:00am be presenting YK Museveni for nomination as its flag bearer for the 2016 elections to the Independent Electoral Commission. The same day at 2:00pm, NRM will hold a public rally at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds to present candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to the public. On November 5, 2015, candidate YK Museveni will then launch the NRM 2016-21 election manifesto," he said.

Todwong also said that accreditation for the party national conference will be conducted on October 30 at Kololo.

Opposition parties FDC, DP, JEEMA, CP and UPC have been asked to send representatives to attend the conference.

"All preparations including invitations and accreditation are already underway, and the secretariat is in close touch with delegates, and other invitees, who include leaders of sister and brotherly political parties in the region, and those in IPOD (Inter-Party\Organisation Dialogue), that is, parties with representation in Parliament as special guests," he said.
