Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi is scheduled to be nominated on November, 3, 2015 at 2:00pm, a few hours after the nomination of President Yoweri Museveni on the same day.
This was revealed Wednesday morning by the TDA Go Forward interim spokesperson Michael Mabikke at Mbabazi’s campaign head office in Nakasero.
Opposition parties backing Mbabazi have formed a new coalition dubbed TDA Go Forward which is scheduled to be formalized Thursday at a joint conference inside Crested Towers at Nakasero.
Mabikke, who is the president of SDP, informed journalists that their coalition of political parties and groups backing Mbabazi are organizing for a two million people march to accompany their presidential candidate to Namboole for nomination.
"We are mobilizing a two million people march to accompany Mbabazi for his nomination at Namboole. On that day Kampala will close. Shops will close. People will abandon their businesses. We ask police and EC not to disrupt our crowds," Mabikke said.
The press conference, which Mbabazi did not attend, was attended by among others the PPP spokesperson Sadam Gayira, former minister Hope Mwesigye, TDA GO Forward chief of staff Solome Nakaweesi, and Justice Forum’s spokesperson Swaibu Kaggwa.
