OPPOSITION chief whip MP Cecilia Atim Ogwal has claimed that former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi’s alliance with the opposition could be a ploy to cause disorganization within the ranks.

Addressing journalists at her home at Teobia village in Lira municipality, Ogwal also said she believes Mbabazi is a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and has never denounced the party.

“Amama Mbabazi joined the opposition to disorganize. He is a strong member of NRM” she said.

She urged people not to get involved in the misunderstanding between historical friends, President Yoweri Museveni and Mbabazi.

"President Museveni can convene and reconcile with Amama anytime and they continue working together; what will opposition say?" she asked.

She also dismissed media reports claiming she will head the campaign for Mbabazi in Lango sub region.

"I am not happy with what appeared in the media that I will head Amama Mbabazi’s campaign in Lango. Since Amama was sacked I haven’t discussed anything with him," she said.

She added that it was propaganda fabricated to soil her political reputation yet she is a strong member of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change.

"What agenda does Amama have for the people of Lango and what will I tell my people?" Ogwal asked.

She also blasted legislators for passing the Presidential Elections Act saying the sh3m to be paid by a person willing to contest as a Member of Parliament was a trick to stop poor people from contesting.

She said parliament should have considered and increase by about sh500,000.

"The money will be for doing what?" Ogwal asked.
