Nominations of presidential candidates for Nov 3 to 4

Nomination dates for presidential candidates have been postponed to November 3 to 4 2015, Electoral Commission (EC) announced Friday. EC had scheduled nominations for October 5 to 6.

EC chairperson, Dr. Badru Kiggundu told a news conference in Kampala that campaigns of presidential candidates will run from November 9, 2015 to February 10, 2016. The polling date will be communicated at a later date, he said.

Nomination fees of presidential candidates have been revised from sh8m to sh20m and candidates will pay before the nomination day.

The end time of polling has also changed from 5pm to 4pm.

Submission of nomination forms from presidential candidates will continue up October 23, 2015.
