Bilateral trade between Uganda and China reached $615 million last year, further bolstering China’s position as one of Uganda’s biggest trade partners.

Bilateral trade between Uganda and China reached $615 million last year, further bolstering China’s position as one of Uganda’s biggest trade partners. According to latest figures from the first half of 2015; bilateral trade reached $377 million. Imports to Uganda from China reached $341 million and exports from Uganda to China $36m. Uganda mainly exports leather, coffee, and agricultural products while China mainly imports manufactured goods. Gilbert Kidimu spoke to Zhao Yali, ambassador of the People’s Republic of China about the economic activities of the Asian country in Uganda.
