The French Ambassador in charge of climate change in Africa and Middle East, Stephane Gompertz accompanied by the Ambassador of France to Uganda, Sophie Makame, on Tuesday paid a courtesy call to the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Jennifer Musisi.

The two discussed progress being made in ‪‎Kampala as regards climate change response and promoting sustainable development in general.

Recently KCCA embarked on an exercise of planting 10, 000 trees in the city centre  in the next five years in an effort to green the city.

The Go Green Campaign is done in partnership with several stakeholders who come up every end of the month to plant trees and clean the city.

The campaign is meant to fight climate change disasters.

The Ambassadors expressed gratitude at the progress made and the close collaboration between the Government of France and KCCA.

The two further discussed KCCA's participation in the upcoming Conference of Parties ‪COP21 which will take place in Paris (France) this December 2015.
