The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has taken the lead to fundraise for Ivan Byekwaso to enable him participate in World Cup Natural Body Building(WCNBB) event on November 7 in San Diego.

Byekwaso is also scheduled to feature in the Natural Olympia that follows thereafter in Las Vegas, November 12-15. In a meeting with Byekwaso and his sponsor Jackson Pemba in the Speaker’s boardroom at Parliament on Wednesday, Kadaga highlighted the need to fundraise for Byekwaso to participate in the events, saying it will lift Uganda’s image abroad.

When Byekwaso wins, she said, Uganda’s image abroad is uplifted.

“Write to the Parliament Speaker, stipulating clearly the necessity for sponsorship, and the amount of money required, then I will see how to market this noble cause,” Kadaga said in a jovial mood.

Byekwaso who won gold at the INBA Natural Universe Bodybuilding Championship in Texas needs $30,000 (about sh110m ) for coaching fees, food supplements, hotel accommodation and institutional fees, to enable him participate in the WCNBB and Natural Olympia.
