Nkumba v Ndejje

The NSSF National Volleyball League resumes Wednesday with Ndejje Elites travelling to Nkumba Navy for their first away match.

Nkumba will host the Elites as underdogs especially after Ndejje Elites VC won 3-2 in the semi-finals of the KAVC International and the straight sets win at the national championships in Soroti last month.

In the men's category Ndejje University volleyball teams coach Johnson Kawenyera has sounded a warning to his opponents in both the men and women leagues as they finished the first round in a flying style over the weekend.

Ndejje men managed to beat KCCA 3-1 and Gulu in straight sets at MUBS Arena and Kawenyera asserts that their teams are capable of securing enough wins to sail them through to the playoffs at the end of the regular season.

In their wins against KCCA and Gulu, Ndejje's youthful outside attackers Innocent Ayo and Ramathan Kisakye; and Richard Kilama and Nicholas effectively manned assaults that earned them victory.

"It has been fear of experienced players on teams like KAVC, Sport-S, Nkumba and Nemostars that have seen us lose matches but the players are building confidence. We want to ensure that we continue to win our matches secure playoff places for both men and women teams," Kawenyera said.

Sport-S overcame Nkumba 3-2 while Espoir and Nemostars were straight sets winners over Mulago and Thunders respectively in the women's category.
