A condolence book has been opened at Kololo ceremonial ground for the public to sign as the country mourns the fallen internal affairs minister Gen. Aronda Nyakairima.

Flags are also flying at half-mast, army spokesperson, Lt. Col. Paddy Akunda said.

An autopsy on the body of the deceased minister, who died on Saturday aged 56, will be carried out Monday in Dubai.

The former army commander will be accorded a state funeral.
Ankunda said the team led by UPDF chief of medical services, Dr. James Makumbi, includes four pathologists, two Police experts and Jolly Ngabirano, the deceased’s sister.

“The team held talks with the officials from the United Arab Emirates Government and members of the delegation that had travelled to South Korea with Gen. Aronda. Their discussion entailed documentation to allow the autopsy on the body to start. Investigations are set to start today. We will keep the country posted,” Ankunda said.
