It’s likely to be a tough outing this weekend as Uganda’s seed one, Lillian Zawedde battles to regain her pride at the third Beach Woodball Circuit at Sports Beach in Entebbe.

Zawedde is currently in fourth position with 54 points after two circuits. She is tied on points with third placed Shamsa Nantege but with two points behind table leaders Sophie Namuddu and Joan Mukova.

“Am only thinking of how to displace table leader (Namuddu), she is just two points ahead of me and am ready to fight to close the gap,” she said.

Meanwhile table leader Sophie Namuddu is skeptical about her form ahead of the meet saying, “I am currently off-form and have not been training for a while but I promise to put up a fight for the title.”

On contrary to Namuddu’s fear is defending champion Mukoova who seems fired-up and ready to retain her crown.

In the men’s quest, potential title contender Ronald Kawumba will be facing his coach Onesmus Atamba in the battle for top spot.

Kawumba has accumulated 100 points after two circuits while his close challenger and former champion Atamba is at 96 points in second position from the same number of circuits played this season.

At the previous outing, Kawumba emerged winner with 43 strokes while Atamba finished in 7th position with 49 strokes. Meanwhile in third position is Isaac Ariho with 94 points.
