Athlete Solomon Mutai won a bronze medal at the IAAF World Athletics Championship in Beijing China last month, but will only be satisfied with his achievements when he wins gold and writes a world record at the World Championship.

Mutai told the New Vision on Monday after getting news that he was voted the Nile Special Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) sports Personality for the month of August.

The 23-year old athlete said that he has already drawn a training programme to improve his performance in the next events.

"I'm very grateful and happy to be voted Uganda's best," Mutai stated.

"Yes I won a bronze but that is not enough, I want gold and a World record," the Arua Club athlete added.

Mutai who made his first podium finish, posting 2 hours, 13 minutes and 30 seconds said that it was a tough event for him but he had confidence right from the beginning that he can make it to the podium.
