It is becoming interesting and unpredictable in the Airtel National Basketball League as the fight for play-off slots intensifies.

Just last week the Stanbic Warriors lost to the Sharing youth, and before the dust settles another giant; Tiger Head Power is counting its loss against the Ndejje University Angels.

Sunday night at Lugogo, the university side proved that on a good day they can be menacing at both ends of court.

Led by Jonah Otim (21pts) the university side beat Power 80-75 to hand them their fifth loss of the season.

Brian Ssentongo and Brian Oduor scored 19 and 14 points for the angels who had four of their players including Jeje Chaka (10pts) in double figures.

Influential player Abdullah Ramadhan (7pts) made a losing return for Power who had Sudi Ulanga (21pts) as their top scorer in the game which had them trailing by 10 points at half time.

Michael Makiadi (17pts) and Richard Balemwa (17pts) were also rampant for Power who combined their half court press and three-point shooting attempts to devastating effect but still came short of victory.

At one time the former champions trailed Ndejje by over 20 points 3 minutes before the break and had to dig deep to reduce the margin, but still lost three of the four quarters; 7-15, 21-23, 22-16 and 25-26.

The ladies game between the Gladiators and Nkumba Lady Marines was another hard fought battle which the latter won 74-66.

Brenda Ekone with a game high 31 points led the marines who had Diana Nanjala and Barbara Gimbo with 13 points apiece.

Zama Nansikombi (25pts) and Charline Karungi 14 points top scored for the Gladiators who have only managed one win since the season began.
