Coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has recalled Tonny Mawejje but dropped Moses Oloya and Baba Kizito from the squad preparing for the 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers away against Comoros next month.

Mawejje, 28, plays for Iceland side Throttur FC. He last featured for the national team a year ago when he scored in Uganda’s 1-1 draw against Ghana in Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi a year ago.

He could not feature in the subsequent matches due to a lack of match fitness since his is club less.

Midfielders Geoffrey Kizito (Than Quảng Ninh FC, Vietnam), and winger Moses Oloya (Vietnamese League I champion Becamex Binh Duong FC) were excluded after the players indicated that they would not join camp as required by coach Micho.

Kizito and Oloya want to play for their clubs in the Vietnamese V-League on September 1, 2015 before joining the Cranes.

The team that was expected to go into residential training in Eastern Uganda town of Jinja immediately after Azam Uganda Premier League matches on Saturday will now do so on August 31.
