Christakis Fitidis has pulled out of the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda rally citing health problems.

The Rwandan driver told New Vision that he was not feeling well and that doctors have advised him to rest till he is done with treatment.

"I pulled out because I have to finish my treatment and I don't want to take risks," Fitidis stated,

This year, a total of the 38 crews have registered for the Pearl Rally and their names have been sent to the World Motorsport governing body (FIA) for certification.

Africa rally championship (ARC) title contenders Jaspreet Singh (Kenya) and Jassy Singh (Zambia) are the only foreign drivers on the list.

Also on the list are Uganda's crowd favourite Jas Mangat, former NRC champions, Dr.Ahmed Ashraf (2008), Suzan Muwonge (2011), NRC defending champion Ronald Ssebuguzi and reigning NRC table leader Arthur Blick Jr.

Others include John Consta, Kuku Ranjit (Evo 9), and Duncan Mubiru .aka. 'Kikankane' (Subaru N16), Desh Kananura (Subaru N14).
