CAN KCCA hold its nerve to a tenth Super League title? That will be the big question as table leaders KCCA wrestle for the title with Victoria University on the league’s final day.

It is a must win situation for both sides. KCCA, who have a one-point lead, have to beat arch-rivals SC Villa to retain the title.

Victoria University on the other hand not only have to beat Bright Stars, but are also praying that the Lugogo side slips if they are to cruise to their first ever league title.

The mathematics easily points to an easy ride for KCCA until you closely look at how they have lately handled the big stage.

trueGeorge Nsimbe’s side seems to crumble whenever it gets to decisive moments. They could have wrapped up the title at the weekend but couldn’t beat an ordinary Kira Young largely because of lack of composure.

KCCA faithful have also not forgotten their side’s CAF Champions League outings. They played to great away results only to collapse before the home crowd.

Nsimbe is however confident his troops will shine today.

“I know exactly what to expect from our derby with SC Villa. We have corrected mistakes and are going to emerge champions.”

Nsimbe will be praying that top scorer Tony Odur (16 goals) fires his team to victory. It will also be important that Herman Wasswa finds his scoring form.

Striker Mathew Odong, attacking midfielder Noah Ssemakula and defensive linkman Dennis Iguma and overlapping left fullback Isaac Muleme are some of the names Victoria University coach Morley Byekwaso will be banking on against Bright Stars.

In the relegation zone, Proline, who face Simba today; have already joined CRO as the second side to be officially demoted to the FUFA Big league. The battle to determine the third team that will go down now remains between Entebbe and Masaka.

There could however be a delay in determining the third team due to a pending decision on their match with Police that aborted.
