Museveni endorsed as NRM party Flag bearer

NRM leaders in Kampala Central division have endorsed President Museveni as sole party flag bearer in the 2016 elections.

The NRM leaders made the resolution in the absence of their Member of Parliament (MP) for Kampala Central Muhammed Nsereko whom they said they did not invite alleging that he still has legal battles, as far as his MP post is concerned.

Efforts to get the MP were futile as his phone was not available.

The caucus meeting which lasted for close to two hours was attended by chairpersons of youth , women, elderly and disabled persons at the Central division offices in Kampala.
 

The NRM chairperson for Sub County B, Geofrey Nyakana, who convened the meeting, said that the Central division council has over 39 council with 33 of these NRM supporters adding that the party has enough member to mobilize support for Museveni.
 

Nyakana said that the NRM party passed the resolution to make Museveni as their flag bearer to strengthen the Kyankwazi resolution.
 

In a motion tabled by Nyakana and seconded by Mengo Parish councillor, Beatrice Kabagenyi and Geofrey Bahemuka , Kamwokya, the leaders said that amidst hard ship in the city, they has been great improvement in the city.
 

Eddie Mukasa, youth leader Kagugube zone said that the youth have benefitted from NRM programmes siting that Youth Livelihood programme, the students education scheme, and the skill treating programmes.

Mukasa said that by assenting to the anti- homosexuality law Museveni has safeguarded the youth who are the future leaders.
 

“We have reasons why we support Museveni, we know how far he has brought us. Women now has a say in this country,” Chairperson Old Kampala, Rose Okumu said.
 

Salim Uhuru, Chairperson Kisenyi II parish said that, “They are some people who say that they are tired, for us we shall go on and support Museveni.
 

Uhuru said that NRM has a symbol of a bus, which implies that people can embark and disembark. “ While others are getting off we shall pick others and continue, he said.
