Nile Special/USPA Gala

Organisers of the 28th Nile Special/USPA gala are doing everything within their means to ensure that this year’s event stands out.

The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) and their sponsors Nile Special are giving the gala an international touch. The function will have foreign journalists and there are reports that a big international athlete will grace the occasion.

Journalists from the East and Central Africa Sports Journalists Association will attend the event.

“We will soon announce the name of the sports superstar who has agreed to attend the occasion. We want it to be a special gala,” said USPA General Secretary Swalley Kenyi.

Uganda’s biggest awards night will have the country’s top sportsman chosen from nominations of Stephen Kiprotich, Peace Proscovia and the rally crew of Jas Mangat and Gihan da Silva.

A total of 45 sportsmen and women that sparkled in 2013 will receive awards in various disciplines.

A sports legend (yet to be named) and the best team of 2013 will also receive awards.
