NEMOSTARS Volleyball Club have launched their current campaign at the Men's African Club Championship on a faulty note.
The Ugandan champions succumbed to a straight sets defeat to Esperance of Tunisia on day one of the competitions on Thursday.
Nemostars lost the first set 25-18, fought hard in the second although they lost it 25-21. They went down 25-16 in the last.
They have to work hard against neighbours GSU of Kenya on Friday or their target of finishing at least one place better than at last year's championship will suffer a major setback.
The club finished eleventh out of 17 teams where they managed a win against Abidjan University Club from Ivory Coast and two losses to neighbours Kenya Prisons and Autoridade Tributaria VC of Mozambique in the preliminary stage.
