Nnabagereka to tackle harmful cultural norms

THE Nnabagereka, Sylvia Nagginda, has pledged to work with other key stakeholders to address the negative cultural values and harmful practices that undermine the integrity and person of women and girls.

In a message to commemorate the International Women’s Day, Nagginda said while progress had been made in propelling women forward, many challenges remained. 

She reiterated her commitment towards strengthening initiatives that empower women and address gender justice. 

She added that Buganda Kingdom was proud to have promoted women’s rights, empowerment and leadership. 

“Traditionally women in Buganda have power and agency. We reiterate that we will stand with others to continue working towards women’s rights, empowerment and gender equality.”
