Nkana Red Devils v KCCA

CAF Champions League Nkana Red Devils v KCCA KCCA could face a depleted Nkana Red Devils side in the first round of the CAF Champions League this weekend.

Almost half of the Zambian side missed last Saturday’s Charity Shield final against local side Red Arrows due to injury.

Strikers Ronald Kampamba and Lottie Nyimbili, midfielders Claude Bwalya, Kelvin Mubanga and Frank Chibuye and defender Masauso Zimba all missed the encounter in Kitwe where Nkana came from a goal down to win 3-1.

KCCA, who leave tonight for the copper belt city of Kitwe, are however not taking anything for granted.

They entered camp at the weekend with a call from coach George Nsimbe to take the away encounter very seriously.

“Just like in the preliminaries, our fate could be determined away,” Nsimbe told his troops ahead of their league game against rivals Express FC today. KCCA in the preliminaries beat Sudanese giants El Merreikh 2-0 in Khartoum before losing 2-1 in the home leg.

Nkana might be hit by injuries but they can still draw confidence from their Charity Shield victory.
