After last year’s 70-0 whipping by Kyambogo College, King’s College Budo old boys (OBs) had to give back to their school by offering coaching services which paid off on Sunday as they drew 0-0 with host Namilyango College.

Last year Budo were shocked by a humiliating 70-0 defeat against Kyambogo in the opening fixtures, prompting them to pullout of the league, but this didn’t go well with the old boys for their school to be left out of the elite’s sport they won accolades before.

“This is a very good result – drawing against Namilyango at home,” said Budo coach Eric Butime after the game.

“We are trying to give back to the school. Last year’s results were embarrassing but our major focus is to restore our past glory,” Butime, who is currently Pirates Rugby Club team captain, added.

Namilyango games teacher Valence Bizimaana was disappointed with the results but promised better performance in the next fixtures.

Earlier in the day, Namilyango had emerged 20-0 and 5-0 winners in the U-14 and U-16 respectively.

In Entebbe, St. Mary’s College, Kisubi smashed Makerere College 38-3 in the U-19 category and a walkover (28-0) in the U-14 category.

Meanwhile at Kyadondo newcomers Kololo SS stunned Kyambogo College 10-3 in a tight bruising clash.

Hamid Sserunkuma and DMark Kobs’ youngster James Ijongat inspired Kololo to victory with a try each as Michael Omollo scored for Kyambogo.

In Nsangi, defending champions Hana Mixed were held to a 3-3 draw by London College in the U-19 category.

Earlier on, Hana had defeated London College 13-3 in the U-16 category while the latter turned their fortunes around with a 28-0 win over Hana in the U-14 category.
