FUFA staff uncertain of their jobs

MENGO - Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) staff in Mengo are living under fear as they are uncertain of keeping their jobs beyond next month.

Kimuli quit citing a busy schedule while  Mulindwa resigned because under the newly developed FUFA statute, human resource manual and amendments in the constitution; an official can only hold one office at a time.

Staff are under pressure as their six-month contracts signed last September will run out in March.

It is understood that only those with satisfactory performance will keep their jobs while those who fall below the grade will be sacked.

“We (FUFA staff) are working but no one is sure to keep their job beyond March. There is pressure because we don’t know who is evaluating the other,” a staff member who preferred anonymity said.

“That means you can actually leave any time after March, 2014.”

Since taking over as FUFA president last September, Moses Magogo introduced new measures to transform the federation but some staff members are not comfortable with the move.

They have accused Magogo of side-lining them compared to his predecessor Lawrence Mulindwa.
