KICKBOXING star Ronald Mugula will face Egyptian opponent Abdallah Hessen at Freedom City in Namasuba without his German Coach Thilo Schneider who has failed to travel in time for the bought slayed for New Year’s Day.

Mugula revealed this in an interview at Mt Zion Hotel on Sunday morning after training with local coach Twaib Mayanja and his other sparring partners he has been training with to maintain fitness that he hopes will hand him victory over Hessen in the five-round K1 world title fight.

“My coach will not be around, I did not get money to fly him in but I am confident my local trainer has given me enough polishing and I have all the confidence to knock down the Egyptian in the third round,” Mugula stated.

“Nasser Bukenya and Twaib Mayanja have been helping me out, giving me the best training with skills that I hope to use to crash that Egyptian,” he added.

Mugula, whose record stands at 62 fights with 45 wins, 11 losses and six draws, last fought in October when he knocked out Marko Henschke in the third round.

Hessen’s record in 30 fights stands at 23 wins and seven losses but this doesn’t scare Mugula who is confident he has gained more experience from various fights.
