Police have sealed off Kisekka Market and closed the usually busy place following a demonstration over Erias Lukwago’s impeachment.

Police led by Kampala Metropolitan operations chief, Daniel Omala, said they closed the market because a group throwing stones at police was hiding there.

“This place is becoming a planning centre for the wrong people. We have to close it until the traders bring out those staging demonstrations,” Omala said.

Omala asked the leaders at Kisekka Market to bring to book hooligans who throw stones at police whenever they are enforcing law and order in the area.

After running battles between the police and traders that lasted almost for four hours, Omala ordered his men to seal off the market.

In the events of things, police was seen ordering traders to vacate the market.

Police fired teargas and live bullets to disperse the traders forcing them to abandon the market.
